One more, since [info]besamislabios mentioned Bandiera Rossa!

Because not everyone in this goddamn country is a fascist.

Ciao e grazie, partigiano.

I can't help tearing up a little everytime I listen to it, though :(

I just hope people won't forget, ever.

In this country, I doubt anyone has the faintest idea what April 25 is... unless perhaps they're very old.

But don't get me started on the cultural blindness of Americans and our educational system, and whose interests it serves...

And maybe they tell you it was all thanks to the Americans that Italy was freed ;)
Don't get me wrong, I'm not spitting on what the Americans troops did, I would never, but it's easy to forget that here, people had been loosing their lives for freedom and fighting back for a long time.

But don't get me started on the cultural blindness of Americans and our educational system, and whose interests it serves...

It's a shitty world :(

Today is the Liberazione in Italy, the day when the partigiani got Milano back and purged Italy from fascists and nazi after years of fighting. It must be remembered ;)

Hello, darling. I'm glad you're back in one piece *squeezes tight*

alla riscossa, bandiera rossa trionferà...

she is, I always tell her that she should write her autobiography, she's had a very interesting life, and well she's always been a socialist, and she had to leave her country because of her beliefs, she's very passionate when it comes to politics...
